I am Brandon Knox, and I want to be your representative for the Clarksville City Council. I’m fortunate that I’ve had the opportunity to grow up in Clarksville. I have been part of this community since 1989 when my family was first stationed at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. I’m proud of this City and want to encourage others to participate more in their community. I want to find ways to encourage our bright young minds to see Clarksville as a vibrant, prosperous city they can be proud of too.
I graduated Austin Peay State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology and a minor in General Business.
I have been employed at Mid-South Motoplex since July 1999 and proudly been able to serve Clarksville and the Middle Tennessee region in an exciting powersports industry. After running for City Council in 2012, I started a real estate and commercial photography business from scratch. I have experienced the growth and progress in this city first hand. I’m hoping to provide a sensible approach to City Council decisions and to do my part to make our local government more efficient and stop the bickering and stasis we seem to be in. I hope to truly contribute to the community I have been raised in and want to see our city continue to produce a safe and prospering city to raise my family.
I have no doubt in my mind that I am the person I am today as a result of the influence from both of my parents. My mother and father, Cindee and Alan Knox, taught me the importance of our impact on our community and I carry their advice every day. Don’t let fear make decisions for you; think about your consequences; and if you say you’re going to do something, do it.
As a City Council representative I would like to make my decisions keeping these principles in mind. I will be open to suggestions and new ideas and actively listen to the concerns of our community. Sensible development, reasonable spending, and keeping taxes low are my priorities.
My wife, Rebecca and I have two daughters who mean the world to me. I make every attempt to be a positive role model for them. It is important they grow in a stable, loving environment. I firmly believe it takes a village to raise a child. While my part as their Father is to help prepare them for the world they’ll inherit, it is the community that will help shape them into the person they’ll become. I want both Lily and Willow and every other child that lives in the City of Clarksville to have a safe, constructive, and meaningful opportunity to thrive.
Finally, I have an amazing partner, Rebecca. She supports me completely in my endeavors and I am always grateful to share her love and company. She is an amazing woman with a fantastic perspective on life. We were undoubtedly cut from similar molds. I do my best for her and my daughter. Please let me do my best for you.
